Doug Burger

Doug’s story begins in Bellingham, Washington, where he was born and raised. It was there that he developed the determination, work ethic, and competitive spirit that would later define both his life and his real estate career. He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bellingham High School and demonstrated an exceptional level of discipline from an early age. As a young newspaper carrier, he managed a 135-home paper route and earned national recognition as the nation's top-ranked carrier—a testament to the dedication, reliability, and perseverance that would become hallmarks of his professional life.

Growing up, Doug pursued a wide variety of interests and achievements. He competed with the Bellingham Rifle Club, winning a junior sharpshooter competition, and with the Chinook Bowmen Archery Club, where he became the Pacific Northwest and Canada Freestyle Junior Champion. He was also a member of the YMCA swim team and earned the rank of Eagle Scout. One of the highlights of his scouting years was serving as a delegate to the World Scout Jamboree, where he met Scouts from around the world and gained a broader perspective that has stayed with him throughout his life.

At age 15, Doug discovered another lifelong passion—motorcycles. Over the years, he owned more than a dozen street and dirt bikes, culminating with a 100th Anniversary Harley-Davidson V-Rod. Dirt biking became much more than a hobby, leading him into motocross racing, long-distance enduros, and hill-climbing competitions. His love of adventure, competition, and the outdoors became defining characteristics that continue to shape who he is today.

Doug's college years reflected the same independent spirit. He began at the University of Washington before transferring to Western Washington University so he could remain closer to his interests and opportunities in Bellingham. He later continued his education at Washington State University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1976 with a Bachelor of Business Administration.

In 1978, Doug moved to Olympia, Washington, earned his real estate license, and launched the career that has defined the past four decades. Five years later, he married his wife, Jamie, and together they built a family centered on adventure, and spending time together. They raised two sons, Kyle and Cory, and created lasting memories traveling throughout the western United States in their motorhome, often towing jet skis or quads for the next adventure. The Oregon Coast—especially Cannon Beach—became a favorite family destination. One particularly memorable summer, they embarked on an extended road trip that included Lewis and Clark Caverns, Bryce Canyon, Grand Teton National Park, and the Grand Canyon before visiting Doug's parents in Cottonwood, Arizona. They returned home along the Pacific Coast, making unforgettable stops at Disneyland and many of their favorite coastal communities.

Today, family remains at the center of Doug's life. His son Cory works alongside him as a broker on the WEBREALTY Team, while his son Kyle lives in Portland, Oregon, and works as a Human Factors Engineer at Meta. Both sons have two children, making Doug and Jamie proud grandparents of four. From his small-town beginnings and academic achievements to his passion for adventure and more than four decades in real estate, Doug has built a life grounded in integrity, hard work, and genuine relationships. Those same values continue to guide every client interaction, every transaction, and every opportunity to help others achieve their real estate goals.
